Skate Agora BDN: El park que acogerá la SLS en España
Ayer nos confirmaban que ya era real, que la Street League viene a España, y ahora poco a poco se van desvelando todos los secretos sobre el lugar donde se celebrará esta prueba tan conocida.
Los encargados de construir este skatepark son, como también anunciamos en el primer artículo relacionado con este tema, California Skateparks y Sbinjes Customs (empresa representante de California Skateparks en Europa hasta la fecha) pero, obviamente, la inversión no viene por su parte. Pese a que no se ha anunciado una cifra oficial de cuánto se va a desembolsar, sí que se sabe que las empresas que se encargarán de apoyar este proyecto son Nike SB y Estrella Damm. De todos modos, el Ayuntamiento también ha ayudado considerablemente a que se pueda llevar a cabo, ya que ha cedido el terreno de 3.500 metros cuadrados situado en Can Ribó, al lado de la playa.
También han confirmado fuentes cercanas al proyecto que el skatepark se quedará una vez pase la Street League (el 15, 16 y 17 de mayo), y así es como lo escribía La Vanguardia después de hablar con el Regidor de Deportes del Ayuntamiento de Badalona: «Después del campeonato, que reunirá a patinadores de todo el mundo, se abrirá al público». Esto evitará cualquier tipo de campaña contra este evento, no como en los X-Games de Barcelona, ya que estas grandes compañías dejarán algo más que el espectáculo en mayo.
Los planos del park ya se han publicado, y por lo visto las instalaciones serán ligeramente más grandes de lo que acostumbran a ser. En cuanto a la anchura, se puede apreciar en las imágenes que será mayor que en la de los X-Games de Barcelona, y el los colores principales serán el azul y el gris, combinados con el verde del césped (a diferencia de cuando se celebró la SLS en Barcelona, el park no contará con ninguna decoración relacionada con Gaudí, ni con el llamativo color amarillo por todas partes).

Skate Agora BDN: The park that will host the SLS in Spain
Yesterday we knew it was real, the Street League is coming back to Spain, and now little by little we keep figuring out all the doubts related to the place that will host this well-known event.
The companies in charge of building this new park are, as we announced with the first article related to this topic, California Skateparks and Sbinjes Customs (the company that represented California Skateparks in Europe so far) but, for obvious reasons, the investment doesn’t come from those companies. Although we still haven’t found an official source that could tell us the exact amount of money they need to build this place, we do know who is going to put it, and the names of these two companies are Nike SB and Estrella Damm. Anyway, the City Hall of Badalona also supported this project by assigning this 3.500 square meters terrain placed at Can Ribó, right in front of the beach.
They’ve also claimed the park is going to remain there after the celebration of the Street League (15th, 16th and 17th of May), and this is how La Vanguardia wrote it after talking to the Sports Councilor of Badalona: «After this championship, that will gather skaters from all around the world, it will be open to the public». This decision will avoid any kind of demonstration or campaign against this event, not like with the past X-Games in Barcelona, because these big companies will provide a show and something else, these amazing facilities.
The construction plans have already been published, and it seems the course is going to be slightly bigger than what we are used to. Moreover, we can see in the pictures that this new course is going to be quite wider than the park they built for the X-Games in Barcelona a couple of years ago. The main colors are going to be the blue and the grey combined with the green of the grass (it won’t have anything to do with the colors they used in Barcelona. No yellow rails, and anything related to Gaudí.)
