Después de muchas horas de rodaje bajo la ola de calor en Cubelles (Barcelona), Lexus hace las maletas y se lleva a su Hoverboard lejos de nuestro país. En cuestión de días no quedará ni rastro del skatepark construido por la productora que ha rodado este anuncio y estaremos un buen tiempo sin oír hablar del monopatín volador, que será presentado oficialmente el 21 de octubre (coincidiendo con el 30 aniversario de la película Regreso al Futuro).
Durante estos días hemos confirmado que el protagonista del anuncio será, como ya anticipamos, Ross McGouran, y uno de los datos más sorprendentes es que el joven inglés sufrió una caída el último día de grabación y se marchó del lugar con varios puntos de sutura en la pierna. Todavía no lo ha hecho público en las redes, pero esperamos que lo haga pronto y que aclare si podrá ir a la final de las Nike SB Euro Series en Berlín. De todos modos, él no ha sido el único protagonista, ya que en este rodaje le ha acompañado nada más y nada menos que Ignacio Morata.
Seguimos sin información oficial por parte de Lexus, pero fuentes vinculadas a la producción de este spot nos han informado de varios detalles destacados, como por ejemplo la cifra que ha tenido que pagar la marca japonesa sólo por el transporte de esos raíles por los que se mueve el Hoverboard. Han viajado desde Alemania hasta el sur de Barcelona, y el coste rozaría los 300.000€. Además, hemos podido confirmar que el Lexus Hoverboard no pesa más de 10 kilos, una cifra mucho más reducida de lo que se esperaba.
Por lo que hemos podido averiguar, el Hoverboard levita gracias al efecto magnético de unos super-conductores integrados al dicho patín y el campo electromagnético generado en los raíles. Estos super conductores pierden potencia a medida que aumenta su temperatura y de ahí que haya que enfriarlos con nitrógeno líquido cada 20 minutos aproximadamente.
Sería muy complicado de venderlo de cara al público debido a que requiere estos raíles y por el tema del nitrógeno, pero Lexus ya dejó bien claro que es tan sólo para publicar un capítulo más de la serie «Lexus: Amazing in Motion». Algunos operarios han afirmado a ElPatín.com que no hay ningún problema para manejarlo siempre y cuando sepas controlar un skateboard, pero si no controlas una tabla normal tendrás serios problemas para dominar el Hoverboard. Este vídeo muestra desde lejos cómo vuela sobre la tabla el protagonista del anuncio, Ross McGouran.
La marca japonesa aprovechará también este spot y este lugar para la promoción de uno de sus últimos modelos de alta gama, el Lexus GS F (un híbrido que roza los 600cv), pero todavía está por ver si coincidirán en el anuncio estos dos nuevos vehículos.
Quedan pocos cabos por atar en cuanto al Hoverboard y el Lexus de la imagen superior, aunque se rumorea que la marca japonesa podría haber probado su primer coche magnético en el mismo lugar. ¿Se habrán aprovechado del revuelo creado por la tabla voladora para probar uno de los mayores avances en el sector automovilístico? LEXUS’ HOVERBOARD FLIES AWAY FROM SPAIN

After many hours of shooting under the heat wave in Barcelona (Spain), Lexus already packed everything and they fly with their Hoverboard far away from Spain. In just a couple of days the huge skatepark built by this company will be gone and we won’t hear anything else from the flying board until they present it in October the 21st (Back To The Future’s 30th Anniversary).
These days we’ve confirmed the main character of the commercial is, as we already anticipated, Ross McGouran, and one of the most surprising details is that he bailed so hard with the Hoverboard that he left the park with many stitches in the leg. He hasn’t made it official on social media yet, but we hope to know more about it soon in order to know if he’s gonna be able to skate at the Nike SB Euro Series in Berlín. But anyway, he hasn’t been the only main character, cause he’s been skating with Ignacio Morata, a Spanish pro skater.
There’s no official information offered by Lexus, but sources related to the production of the commercial informed us of many remarkable details, like for example the costs of shipping the magnetic rails the Hoverboard needs to move. They’ve moved them from Germany to Spain, and the costs would be around 300.000€. Moreover, we’ve been able to check the Lexus Hoverboard is not heavier than 10kg, a number that is way below of what we thought at the beginning.
ElPatín.com has also been able to see this device has to stop approximately every 20 minutes to substitute the liquid nitrogen. The Hoverboard uses magnetic levitation to achieve frictionless movement. It’s built with superconductors that work better when they are cooler. Therefore, when the temperature of the skateboard increases, the vehicle has to stop for replace the nitrogen.
If Lexus had the idea of selling it as another vehicle of the brand it would be beyond difficult because of the disadvantages of using those rails but as we already said, the Japanese brand pointed out they don’t want to sell it, but just to do another episode of «Lexus: Amazing in Motion». Some workers underlined there’s no problem to use it if you know how to ride a regular skateboard, but if you don’t, you will have many problems to control the flying board.
Lexus has also been shooting some images of the new Lexus GS F (an hybrid car with around 600hp) at the same place, but we don’t know if they will appear in the same spot or not.
Now we know almost everything related to the Hoverboard and the Lexus shown on the image, although there are some rumors that stand that the Japanese brand has been testing their first magnetic car at the same place. Have they used the Hoverboard as a distraction to head off the attention of one of the most disruptive things in the car industry?
