No hay duda que Cody Cepeda se alzara con el trofeo de ganador del último campeonato más conocido entre skaters ha sido una noticia inmensa, de la ignorancia de su persona, a una fama casi insultante que te proporciona el tumbar a los más grandes del patín contemporáneo, a los que, hace poco, veías con ojos encandilados detrás de la pantalla.
Cody demostró tener unos nervios de acero que pocos de ese nivel han demostrado tener, no sé si lo habíais notado pero en la final no falló ni un sólo truco y, precisamente no fueron fáciles. Como dijo Steve Berra, los últimos BATB venían motivados por un tema y el de este año ha sido el año de los amateurs y ¿Por qué? Pues por este vídeo:
Berra cuando comenzó la primera y por desgracia última batalla de Christian Vannella dijo que este Battle At The Berrics venía motivado por él, y normal, ese vídeo deja con la boca abierta a cualquiera. Pero tumbar al australiano de los pies mágicos, de los flips perfectos, de los trucos inverosímiles, iba a ser una tarea encomendada al campeón de este año. Quizás esta fue una de las pruebas más duras y nadie apostaba por él pero Cody Cepeda se impuso a Shane O’Neill contra todo pronóstico.
Y así fueron cayendo, poco a poco… Hasta que este joe se plantó en las finales, con Sewa, Koston y Luan. Y poco más que decir, el título lo define demasiado bien como para explayarse dando vueltas alrededor de la conclusión.
Cuando se junta talento, ganas y suerte los sueños se hacen realidad, y si no, que se lo digan a Cody Cepeda que desde la más absoluta ignorancia sobre su ser hace un par de semanas, en unos cuantos minutos tu vida vira radicalmente 180º hasta ir en dirección opuesta, cara arriba

There’s no doubt that since Cody Cepeda got himself the ATB’s trophy it has been a huge story, from total ignorance of his existence to an incredible a fame, imagine if you were a total random skater and suddenly you’re beating the skaters around the world those who you were watching them and freaking out on your own in your home only a couple of weeks earlier.
Cody proved again and again to have nerves of steel only a few have demonstrated that kind of calm on this level, I do not know if you noticed but Cody in the championship battle didn’t miss one single trick and they weren’t easy at all. As Steve Berra said, BATB came motivated by a theme and this year has been the year of the amateurs and why? This is why.
When it became the first and unfortunately the last battle of Christian Vannella, Steve Berra explained this year’s Battle At The Berrics had been motivated by him, Christian, which is completely on point this video freaks out everybody who watched it. But some Australian guy with magic feet, perfect flicks, tricks who nobody can do, killed Vannella without mercy, but it has to be Cody. Cody beat this creature from Australia.
Perhaps this one was the toughest tests and nobody bet on him but, Cody Cepeda won Shane O’Neill against all odds.
And so every other guy fell slowly … Until this joe got himself on the finals, along with Sewa, Koston and Luan no less. And little more is left to say, the title of this post is defines too well to dwell circling the conclusion.
When talent, fate and luck meet, eventually dreams come true. And if you do not believe it, go tell that to Cody Cepeda who from absolute ignorance on skate’s world a couple of weeks ago, turned his life around radically in a few seconds to go exactly in the opposite direction, face up and so everybody recognizes you.
Who wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of Cepeda?
